Together with colleagues at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, we analyzed a scheme to detect chiral optical forces on molecules. The force, resulting from electric-dipole interactions of chiral molecules with a set of electromagnetic and static fields, is expected to be orders of magnitude stronger than chiral forces from "traditional" schemes based on higher-order (such as the cross terms of electric-dipole and magnetic-dipole) interactions.
